Does High Tibial Osteotomy (Limb Alignment Surgery) Affects the Future Knee Replacement?

Often it is feared that a high tibial osteotomy at young age to save the knee joint will compromise the future knee replacement of old age. But it is a myth as evident by multiple studies.

The following study form prestigious Journal of Joint and Bone Surgery suggests that the clinical and radio-graphic results of primary total knee arthroplasty in knees with and without a previous high tibial osteotomy are not substantially different.

Also a systematic review published in BioMedCentral supports this.
