A recent report suggests that many times a false positive MRI scans may lead to unnecessary surgery and like wise patients with false negative MRI scans had a delay to surgery. So what should be the accurate way to confirm the pathology?
A clinico-radiological correlation is more important than a radiological (MRI) evaluation alone. An arthroscopy surgeon/ sports surgeon must review MRI pictures himself and correlate it with his clinical findings before coming to a final conclusion.
A better quality MRI pictures are always better than low resolution MRI pictures.
