It was another feather in our cap when our consultant Dr Deepak Goyal was invited as a Jury for prestigious medical innovation Hackathon #MEDiC organised by @BETiC; under Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai. It was indeed a great honour to be a Jury. where teams from all the top notch, elite institutes of country are participating to meet a health care challenge. Some of the participant institutes were Indian Institute of Technologies, Indian Institute of Science, Symbiosis Institute etc.

A total of 16 teams were formed comprising of doctors, engineers, entrepreneurs, managers and teachers, to brainstorm and develop novel solutions for 16 unmet clinical needs curated from different hospitals. Five days and five nights, the participants were nearly awake 24*7 to conceptualise the idea for solving the healthcare related problem, prepare a model to solve it, test it, envisage a start-up plan and patent plan, and finally to put in front of Jury to decide if there solution is workable or not.

Dr Goyal took active part in asking details of their plans and discussed challenges that they are going to face in real hospital situation. He also encouraged them by giving his ideas that can help the teams in further development of their respective idea.

Prof B Ravi is the main force behind this idea of healthcare innovation and he along with his team (Dr Rupesh Ghyar and others) has contributed immensely towards many affordable solutions recently.
