A 13 years old boy approached us with sever pain in his right knee with painful knee movement, started after doing a pilgrimage at Palitana Mountain.
On investigations, he was found to be having around 15cm2 cartilage defect in his right knee. Such a large defect in cartilage means he is heading for sever osteoarthritis of the knee in near future.
We decided to do ‘Autologous Chondrocyte Implantation’ (ACI) along with ‘The Overlay ACI Technique” for him.
At two years, the boy has recovered fully and is ready to go back to active sports.
We are also happy to have caught attention of local media, where his case was published.
